This document serves as an official acknowledgment of the restrictions imposed by U.S. Customs on the importation of materials containing biological matter, whether alive or dead. These restrictions include, but are not limited to, the transport of the following: • Moss, whether on antique stones, staircases, or other materials. • Herbariums, plant specimens, and any form of preserved flora. • Animal products, including but not limited to antlers, animal hides, and skins. Important Notice: Failure to comply with these regulations is entirely the responsibility of the client. The client must verify with their customs broker whether their goods are legally admissible. If U.S. Customs finds any prohibited materials in the shipment, the container may be stopped, inspected, and potentially returned to its point of origin. This could lead to significant penalties, fines, and additional transport costs. Client’s Options: You, the client, have the following options: 1. Removal of Prohibited Materials (At Additional Cost) Elwood Transport and Relocation can remove any prohibited materials from your items to ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations. This service will be charged at a rate of €90 per hour for the necessary cleaning, including brushing and high-pressure washing (Kärcher) to remove all traces of dirt, dust, animal, or plant residues. This process will remove the patina from the stones. 2. Transport at Your Own Risk If you choose to retain the prohibited materials (e.g., moss, animal products, flora, etc.) in your shipment, you accept full responsibility for any consequences that may arise. In the event of a customs inspection, you will bear all associated penalties, fines, or additional transport costs, including the cost of returning the container to its point of origin. Liability Waiver By signing this document, you acknowledge and agree that Elwood Transport is not liable for any consequences arising from the inclusion of prohibited materials in your shipment. All risks and financial liabilities will rest solely with you as the client. Furthermore, by signing this document, you confirm that you understand this contract is legally binding between you and Elwood Transport and that it holds full contractual and legal value.
